“Twitter provides us with a wonderful platform to discuss/confront societal problems. We trend Justin Bieber instead.” - Lauren Leto
Welcome to the very first chasing answers newsletter!
I know all four of you are going to love it!
If you do, feel free to share with friends, family, co-workers, and every one of your Twitter followers.
You may want to hold on to this email, just in case. This may be the equivalent of having the first Batman comic. Not likely, but anything is possible.
The topic for this week is social media. In fact, we’re going to start the chasing answers newsletter out with a two-part series on social media.
Until the last few months, I had never used social media. No Twitter, Facebook, nothing. Now, here I am, writing a newsletter and trying to build an audience. So, after years of not succumbing to the pressure. Hello, social media!
As you will read in the first chasing answers essay linked below, I am coming around to some benefits of social media. However, I still believe the majority of time spent on social media is not beneficial, so in this week’s newsletter, I want to highlight some tools that help people manage their social media use.
We The Geek put together this list of the 10 best apps to track and limit social media usage on both iPhone and Android.
Digital Trends has this list of 9 apps to help get your digital life under control.
Two of the top apps that appeared on both lists are Freedom and Space. So, if you are struggling with social media usage and want a tool to help you monitor the time you spend staring at your phone, please check them out.
And for all you parents out there, Big Family Organised Chaos put together this list of apps to help monitor your child’s time on social media and help keep them safe online.
Now, without further ado, here is the first chasing answers essay, Ok, Social Media, You Win. Sort Of.
As always, I want to hear from you.
If you read something here that resonates with you, leave a comment.
If you would like to discuss something further, shoot me an email.
If there was something you absolutely hated, @ me on Twitter.
And if there is something you think I should be writing about, please let me know.
